Fabric guide
Staying cool in a Haryana summer: a simple fabric guide

Cotton, linen, rayon or blends? What actually keeps you comfortable when the mercury crosses 45°.
May and June in Narnaul are no joke. The right fabric makes more difference than any colour or cut.
Cotton is still king
Pure cotton breathes and absorbs sweat. Look for a light, open weave — hold it up to the light and you should see a little through it. Cambric and voile are ideal for kurtis and shirts.
Linen for the hottest days
Linen dries quickly and stays away from the skin. It creases easily, but that relaxed look is part of its charm.
Rayon: soft, but check the feel
Rayon drapes beautifully and feels cool at first touch, which is why it's popular for kurtis and palazzos. It holds heat a little more than cotton, so it's best for evenings and indoor days.
Colours and fit
Lighter colours reflect sunlight, and a slightly loose fit lets air move. Save tight synthetics for the winter.
